Turn coaching into a practice plan
A lesson should not end when you leave the coaching bay.
Lesson Logger allows coaching points to become Practice Prescriptions — specific pieces of homework attached to the lesson that created them.
A prescription can include the area of the game, the drill or task, instructions and a target.
Prescriptions automatically become part of My Practice Plan, where you can log practice against them and see how many times each piece of homework has been worked on.
When the work is complete, the prescription can be marked as completed. If it needs more attention later, it can be reopened from Practice or from the original lesson.

This makes it easier to answer a simple but important question: are you actually practising the things your coach asked you to work on?
Designed for phone, Fold and tablet
Lesson Logger works on the device that is most useful at the time.
On a phone, the interface is designed for quick capture and reference. Record a lesson, check your homework or log a practice session without unnecessary complexity.
Larger displays such as iPad, Android tablets and foldable devices provide more room for practice plans, lesson history, statistics and yardage information.
This makes Lesson Logger particularly useful alongside launch monitors, simulators and practice systems such as TrackMan, where a tablet can become part of the practice workstation.
Designed to work with ForeThought
Lesson Logger is part of the wider ForeThought golf ecosystem.
Lesson data is stored in a structured JSON format that can be used by ForeThought on macOS, allowing coaching information to sit alongside practice sessions, rounds, equipment information and long-term performance analysis.
Pair Lesson Logger with the Yardage Book Builder to keep club-distance information available across the ecosystem too.
Your file. Your storage. Your data.
Lesson Logger does not require a ForeThought account, subscription or developer-operated cloud service.
Your Lesson Logger data is stored in a JSON file that you create or select.
Depending on your device, that file can be stored locally, in your own iCloud Drive, in your own Google Drive, or in another storage location made available by your device.
Lesson Logger remembers the file you selected and continues reading and writing to that location until you choose another one.
If you choose cloud storage such as iCloud Drive or Google Drive, synchronisation is handled by your chosen storage provider — not by ForeThought servers.
Privacy by design
Lesson Logger does not require advertising identifiers, analytics tracking or a user account.
The developer does not receive a copy of your Lesson Logger file. You remain in control of where your golf data is stored, backed up, copied or deleted.

Where is my data stored?
Lesson Logger stores your data in a JSON file selected or created by you. It can be stored locally on your device, in iCloud Drive, in Google Drive, or in another supported file-storage location.
Can I use Lesson Logger on multiple devices?
Yes. If the same Lesson Logger JSON file is available through your chosen cloud-storage provider, compatible devices can open and work with that file.
Does Lesson Logger require an account?
No. Lesson Logger does not require registration, a subscription or a ForeThought account.
What is a Practice Prescription?
A Practice Prescription is homework created from a lesson. It records what area of your game needs work, the drill or task, any instructions and the target you are working towards.
Can I see how often I have practised my lesson homework?
Yes. Practice sessions can be linked directly to a prescription, allowing Lesson Logger to show how many times that homework has been practised.
Can completed homework be reopened?
Yes. Completed prescriptions remain available and can be returned to the active Practice Plan whenever you need to work on them again.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Lesson Logger uses an open JSON file format, so your data remains portable and under your control.
Does Lesson Logger share my data?
No. Lesson Logger does not upload your golf data to servers operated by the developer.
Do I need ForeThought on Mac?
No. Lesson Logger can be used independently. ForeThought adds deeper analysis and allows lesson and practice data to become part of a wider golf-performance record.
